CHRISTMAS AUCTION REALISES OVER £2.3 MILLION

Smith and Sons December property auction achieved sales of over £2.3 million with several properties achieving prices far in excess of the advertised guides.

The online sale attracted strong interest from buyers and investors around the UK, the majority of the lots being based in Wirral with a broad range of residential and commercial properties, land and development opportunities.

Two commercial lots achieved standout prices. Outlook House, a large commercial, former bank building sold for £361,000 against a guide of £200,000 - £250,000, whilst the former Wirral Hotel on Bebington Road in New Ferry sold for £145,000 against a guide of £100,000 - £120,000.

Other popular lots included refurbishment opportunities for redevelopment and resale, owner occupation, or rental as part of a wider portfolio.

Chris Johnson, Auctioneer at Smith and Sons commented: “Despite fewer viewings leading up to the auction, there are still a number of serious buyers and investors looking for refurbishment opportunities across all price ranges and investments producing attractive yields. With post auction sales already completed, this has been another successful auction and year for Smith and Sons, particularly in view of the challenging times we have all experienced.

Moving into 2022, we’ll continue to use the online auction room whilst physical viewings will continue as normal. We are already taking enquiries for our February auction and anyone interested in obtaining a free appraisal should email aas@smthandsons.netor call 0151 647 9272.”
