Smith and Sons held their Summer auction at the Village Hotel in Bromborough at which 26 lots were offered achieving sales in excess of £1.7 million.

The star lot was undoubtedly a detached bungalow in the Lower Village, Heswall. This needed complete refurbishment but due to its location sold after competitive bidding for £167,000 against a guide of £90,000.

A refurbished shop and flat in Greasby was also popular achieving a sale price of £144,000 against a guide of £120,000.

Eaton Court, a former nursing home in Wallasey, was suitable for conversion or redevelopment of the site and achieved a price of £575,000 whilst a commercial investment in Eastbank Street, Southport sold for £105,000 representing a yield of 13%.

A derelict property close to Birkenhead Town Centre with planning permission for conversion to HMO use sold for £77,000 this having potential to create a high rental income on completion of the works.

Three houses in Liverpool requiring complete refurbishment sold for the top end of the guide price once again proving that this type of property is popular with investors looking to refurbish either for rental  income or onward sale.

Smith and Sons are already taken entries for their September auction, the closing date being 18th August.
